Music pioneer, writer, and activist Lou Harrison (1917–2003), an early experimenter with alternate tunings and intricate mergings of Western and Eastern styles, has been a legend of the American music scene since the 1950s. The culmination of two decades of research and documentation, Lou Harrison: A World of Music features rare footage, personal recordings, and informal conversations with Harrison, as well as extended passages of his hauntingly beautiful scores. The director leads a post-screening dialogue. Presented in association with Post-Classical Ensemble, The George Washington University, and the forum “Sublime Confluence: The Music of Lou Harrison.” (Eva Soltes, 2010, HD-Cam, 90 minutes)

Lou Harrison estis eminenta komponisto kaj ankaŭ Esperantisto. Interesitaj lokaj esperantistoj povas grupe spekti ĉi tiun dokumentan filmon ĉe ci tiu mondinaŭgura evento. La filmo komenciĝos je la 4a; la aŭditorio malfermiĝos je 3:30. Renkontu min en la vico inter 3:00 kaj 3:15. Mi eniros je 3:30; poste serĉu min kaj aliajn ene. Lou Harrison was an eminent composer and also an Esperantist. Interested local Esperantists have the opportunity to attend the world premiere of this documentary film as a group. The film starts at 4; the auditorium opens at 3:30. Join me in line between 3:00 and 3:15. I will enter at 3:30; if you arrive later, you can join me and others inside.
